Tyndale + OX

Rebrand the Bible? Uh, Ok.

As our culture has shifted and Bible reading has fallen precipitously among younger generations, Tyndale came to OX for help to rebrand the New Living Translation (NLT). Could we help re-articulate who the NLT is for and why a new breed of teachers, preachers, and people in the pews would want to choose the NLT over others in the marketplace?

Over the years, the NLT had always sought to make Scripture understandable and relatable to millions of people. The heart for this was still there, so we dove into the NLT rebrand project, ready to reignite and refocus the 25-year-old brand.

The Strategy

The OX team researched the Bible market thoroughly and targeted the primary audience for a newly rebranded NLT. We also developed effective messaging and designed a fresh brand strategy to help Tyndale appeal to a whole new generation of Bible readers—ordinary people who want to connect to the life-changing power of God.

Here are the five things you should know about me. I effortlessly imagine new ideas and approaches that lead to significant impact. Constraints inspire me to achieve impossible outcomes. As a transformational leader, I see more in people, call it out and provide opportunities for them to realize their potential. In every interaction, I spark deeper understanding and inspire people with motivating word pictures. My daily habit is to investigate a surprising variety of information and apply it in uniquely useful ways.

These five things are true of me in every area of my life, and they are the core skills and practices that allowed me to build the team at OX Creative where we create purposeful campaigns that inspire GOOD in our world.

Our work has been referenced in a speech by President Obama, resulted in over a billion dollars in charitable contributions, included figures like Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg, and the son of Ugandan military dictator Idi Amin. If you’re still reading this, you might be interested to also know I've been awarded for cinematography at Cannes.

Cody possesses over two decades of project management experience spanning international project logistics to product development, which means Cody has learned a thing or two about how to get projects done.

At OX, Cody keeps our internal systems humming from his kitchen table in Atlanta. His written to-do lists and creative storyboard may be reminiscent of the past, but we love him for it. He reminds us that sometimes the old way of doing things isn't all bad.

If you’re trying to find Cody, your best bet is a local brewery or his front porch, where he currently resides with his wife, Mary London.
