Forge Virtual Studios
A gateway to world-class technology
Video shapes the way ideas travel. Brands trust it to tell their stories. Nonprofits lean on it to inspire action. Founders use it to bring visions to life. Yet for many, the tools to create truly great video can feel just out of reach.
Virtual production, particularly LED stages, has often been branded around scale and technical mastery. The companies facilitating this technology usually foreground specifications, equipment lists, and insider terminology. For many mid-level creatives, this first impression can make the field appear closed off to outsiders.
As a result, strong ideas are sometimes constrained to fit tools that feel easier to access.
Forge responded by rethinking their audience's first impressions of the brand. The brand exists to make world-class virtual production feel usable and open, designing a place where more creatives can step in to create, collaborate, and dream without second-guessing whether they belong. OX partnered with Forge to design an identity that could bring this mission to life.
Dream bolder (we’ve got you covered)
When someone senses that a space was truly created with them in mind, something shifts. Curiosity grows. Braver questions surface. People linger in the creative tension to give bold ideas the time they need to emerge.
We realized that catalyzing that shift wasn't about simplifying the technology. The studio needed to stay cutting edge, while the brand invited people in and made the journey feel possible.
Designed to welcome people in
Forge’s brand design begins as an open invitation to a space intentionally shaped for possibility. The brand mark, inspired by the architectural shape of the LED stage, grounds the brand in Forge’s practical offering while leaving the center open, ready for the story to be written by the creators who step inside.
Every design choice supports this more open, accessible experience. The use of lowercase sans serif welcomes everyone in, balancing approachability with quiet confidence. Photography centers on people; capturing moments of collaboration, experimentation, and decision-making while technology appears woven seamlessly into the creative process. Geometric forms stretch the visual language further, framing ambition and bringing unity to every expression of the brand.
Color guides the journey forward. The black-and-white foundation serves as a blank canvas, inviting new ideas and letting client stories take center stage. As relationships grow, warm accents emerge to signal trust and a sense of shared belonging.
The mascot who works for the crew
Because Forge is not only a technical space but a working community of contractors, crew, and collaborators, the brand needed a signal that belonging exists beyond client-facing assets. Warren emerged from that need. Part raccoon, part shop steward, Warren reflects the culture of production itself: the humor, the pride in the craft, the shared language that forms on set. He was designed to humanize the internal experience, giving the people who build, wire, light, and troubleshoot the space something that felt recognizably theirs.
He does not headline campaigns or dominate the visual field. Instead, he shows up where culture lives: on a patch, tucked into a corner of an internal doc, or quietly surfacing somewhere in the studio. Over time, he’s become a symbol of belonging. Contractors who return begin to spot him, and that recognition reinforces a shared identity within the Forge community.
Warren helps the brand extend beyond the space itself, into the relationships that bring it to life. The studio transforms into a space where those behind the scenes are truly seen, and creative work is lifted by a community that recognizes itself in every detail.
When belonging is embedded into the system, access opens up, and creative confidence begins to flourish.
